A2Z is the perfect name for this company. A+ would be a good one too. The whole process from the phone call to the signed permit was as smooth and professional as humanly possible. The water heater installation is the best I have ever seen. Fred does not cut corners and clearly explains everything that he will be doing. I chose this company based on previous recommendations on Nextdoor so I’m adding mine to verify that they really are outstanding.
Prompt, professional and friendly, Fred and Joey did an amazing job!! Very thorough, and handled EVERYTHING, fixing some drywall, new platform, made sure up to code and even arranged appt for inspection. They go above and beyond, highly recommend!

In 2022, I had an issue with no hot water coming into my rental unit. Fred answered my call on the weekend and came out to troubleshoot the problem. Turned out there was a gas leak in the community and PG&E turned off the gas main. It was not a water heater problem. Fred did not charge me for his time. I told him that when time did come to replace my water heater, that he had my business. Well, that time came 2 years later. On a holiday. I reached out to Fred and he answered (of course) and he was even on vacation at the time. He had Joey reach out to me within 30 minutes of getting off the phone with him to come out and see the problem. On a holiday. Same day he was able to verify the water heater was indeed in need of replacement. Gave me all the info I needed, sent me a quote electronically, and scheduled the replacement all in the same day. A2Z communicates all the way through the process, handles the permit requirement, schedules the follow up County required inspection and keeps the owner and tenant in the loop all the way through. The quality of the equipment and the installation is excellent. I cannot say enough good things about this company. Wish all service companies were this good. Small family-owned business with integrity. They have a customer for life.

Fred Ford. First class, gold standard materials and service. Does NOT cut corners…on anything. We made the appointment for Tuesday at 8am. Him and his coworker were there at 7:55. Fred: “now I’m going to give you a lot of information about what I do”…took only about 7 minutes… Told us exactly what we needed and why. Gave us the exact amount we’d be paying, which is exactly what we paid. No hard sell. ‘Here’s what I do. Here’s what you pay’. No nonsense. I love that. Everything is done on the cheap these days but not Ol’ Fred Ford. Insists doggedly on the Highest standard of materials and work ethic is equally premium. You should see his truck/trailer! Everything is so organized & immaculate. The results are you have a up to code SAFE high quality water heater. They went to work on the spot! Friendly, and courteous. And then you start wishing ALL businesses were like Fred’s A2Z.
Fred is very thorough when giving an estimate to replace a water heater… He basically gives you an in-person power point presentation, if you will, and explains in great detail all the work that will be done to replace the water heater, he points out and explains the function of different parts that will be replaced and why they will be replaced, and he is willing to answer any questions or concerns you may have with the replacement process or about the new water heater. Fred & his son in law, Joey, did a great job with removing our 20 yr old water heater and installing the new one. They were neat and meticulous with the work, and they cleaned up the area after the installation was complete. They are an A+ BBB accredited business since 8/2010, and receive 5-star reviews on Google & BBB, which are important factors to me when I seek out a reputable contractor. I highly recommend A2Z for your water heater replacement, as you won’t be disappointed!
